Hey there!
My name is Luke Wagner, a senior at Michigan State University, studying Business Management with a passion for baseball.
For the past six MLB seasons, I have worked as a Clubhouse Attendant with the Detroit Tigers, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in the daily operations of a Major League Baseball clubhouse. In this role, I’ve had the privilege of assisting the coaching staff and players directly, as well as supporting the clubhouse manager and team staff. In addition to this, I've attended Spring Training in Lakeland, FL, which gave me a deeper look into the operations of a Major League ballclub. These experiences have strengthened my work ethic, deepened my commitment to the sport, and solidified my goal of pursuing a career in baseball operations.
I am deeply passionate about roster construction and decision-making, and I have always envisioned a future working in a Major League Baseball front office. I strive to continually expand my knowledge of the MLB collective bargaining agreement, sabermetrics, scouting reports, scouting techniques, player evaluation, statistical analysis, trades, free agency, etc. I’m driven by collaboration and committed to using my skills to help support a team of baseball operations professionals in building a consistent winner. As the game continues to evolve, I am equally dedicated to learning and growing alongside it.
At MSU, I’m sharpening my technical skills with tools like Excel, Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and Microsoft Office, which I frequently use to analyze data and build models. These tools help me drive insights that I hope to bring to the world of baseball operations.
Outside of MSU, you can find me at Comerica Park, working with baseball data, playing piano, drums, or guitar, or spending time with friends.
